I need to find a store in Saint Louis, Missouri that sells kosher gelatin. I have tried Whole Foods Market and Wild Oats Market snf no luck.

Answer:
The local Chabad house should know. Jello brand gelatin is usually kosher thought.look at a box and see if it has a kosher mark you trust. I *think* Jello is Circle U parve but it's been awhile since I've needed to buy gelatin so I'm not entirely certain. But the Chabad house in St. Louis will be able to tell you what brands are trustworthy and where to get them.
if you are looking kosher gelatin as if the make cheese cake, you should really understand what kosher is. jello brand is called gelatin but it is veggie based. gelatin like knox is made from a pigs hoof. hence it is not kosher. jello brand will have a kashrut on the box.
try the Ladue Schnucks
You need ask a Rabbi. or
I don't think there is such a thing.
Check the dictionary on the Yahoo Tool bar for 'gelatin' and 'kosher'
PS I know of NO vegetable that contains gelatin..
Although I will suggest that the process to obtain gelatin is purification enough to satisfy any God. Boiled, dehydrated, ground.
The religious food restrictions were because of improper cooking and the lack of cleanliness or diseases that no longer exist.
call your local CHABAD house and talk to the RABBI or his wife. They will only be happy to help you. They are listed in the telephone book
