I know that if I need to buy Chinese ingredients and utensils, I can go to places like Wing Yip in Brent Cross...is there an eqivalent for Indian homeware and ingredients - in a similar location? I live up the M1 from London so can cover quite a distance if necessary! Thank you for your help.

Answer:
Go to a place called Southall..it's where I grew up. It has one of the largest Asian communities in England bar Bradford or Birmingham I think. It's in West London.
Do you drive?...If you do go down the M1...down the North Circular.past Brent Cross...until you get to Hanger Lane. Do a right at Hanger Lane roundabout and keep going until you pass places such as Greenford. Perivale and you'll then follow the signs for Southall. Be wary though because it does get packed and parking can be difficult. You'll love it though...the shops are fantastic...loads of cheap places to get cookware, cash and carry's, and of course, curries!!
If you don't drive you can get a British rail train which takes you to Southall!
the best place is defenatly brick lane in the east end.
its where you can buy everything indian or asian.

they do home shoping as well do a search on yahoo.

good luck.
