I don't know of a food morket, but there is a japenese restaurant that you could call ask them where they pick up their supplies. Most places will tell you so you know they are locally buying, etc.. Good Luck.

Asakusa Japenese Restaurant
416.598.9030.
389 King St W
if i needed something specific i just went to Chinatown (dundas & spadina). it is really good at carrying not only chinese food but thai korean and Japanese food. i shop for lot's of different kinds of asian food and i was able to find most of what i needed.
The Japanese community in Toronto is not very big (relative to Chinese and Korean). You can find Japanese food items in big Chinese supermarkets in Markham, Richmond Hill, or Mississauga, or in Korean stores in Korean Town (Bloor).
