Hello!
I need to cook a meal for two and my friends will eat it the next day. The problem is there won't be microwave around! so i need to cook some dish that doesn't taste horrible when it's cold
Please help!

Answer:
Please do not make the mistake of serving cold stuffed paranthas. They are meant to be eaten fresh, right from the tawa/grill to your plate. If not, then reheat them on tawa/grill till they are brown & crisp. Poori might be of some help. Indian food has to be hot if you want to savour the taste. Only Indian sweets can be eaten cold. If microwave is not there, then you can reheat the food on gas stove. In this case, I'll suggest that you avoid cooking rice because it is very difficult to reheat them without mw. You can cook any curry based dish or dal. Dry vege can be reheated by adding little oil in the pan. You can cook dal makhni. This Indian dish tastes better than the previous days if you have it after a day or two .
Avoid serving cold Indian food. You guys won't be able to relish it.
Fish curry Telugu style in Tamarind Pulusu. Go to any Indian cooking web site like ndtvcooks.com etc., you get the recipe. Actually this particular curry taste superb when you eat next day that too cold with off course hot rice.
ndtvcooks.com ...good luck...
uhhh sorry but it's hard to eat cold indian food...but hmm i guess you could try something with rice...samosas taste ok cold...pakoras...maybe even some palak.
Poori and chappathi can be eaten the next day. I have seen north Indian bringing pooris for three or four days while going and coming from Delhi.

Rice can be eaten next day after noon provided it is cooked in the previous night.
By some golguppas and the relevant fillings. It can be a delicious snack / meal. The fillings can be cut pices of boiled potatoes, boiled or canned chick peas that are already cooked, and a variety of sweat & sour chutney or gravy like spreads to suit your palate. The filling ingredients can be stored in a refrigerator (fridge). It should be a worthwhile try.

You can prepare some couscous ahead of time and store it in a fridge. The recepie is generally on the box and you can blend in a variety of ingredients like chick peas, bits of potatoes, fresh coriander, mint etc.

Nameste,

There is a variety of Indian food which tastes good when cold. You can treat your friends with Stuffed Pranthas, stuffed with Potatoes,Cauliflower,Onions or peas.Make these with whole wheat bread dough with salt in it. Serve with butter, curd or pickle/ Chutney.Happy cooking.
Sharu is right stuffed chapati(parantha) is fine even if its been cooked 24hrs back. Curd and potato(aaloo) paranthas is my fav combination. Add mango or lemon pickles which you might get at a store nearby.
Pani puri,Bhel(prepare fresh no cooking needed), raita of any type. Gulabjamun, rasgulla, ras malai, basundi (all sweet)
