If so, why so?
If not, why not?
Answer:
Hell yeah, Africa is the origin of the soul food method of cooking, how could the food not be good.
I ate at an Ethiopian restaurant on impulse once. Pretty good stuff, too.
I sure would if there was a restaurant near me. I love trying out new foods.
No...I can eat bugs and sand at home.
yes, i'm always open to new types of food!
i might if i knew what kind of food to eat. i've never eaten african food before.
Already did. Because the food was good.
Yeah of course. Though I am a vegetarian, not sure how many veg. dishes they do. We haven't got any African restaurants round here. I like eating out and trying new menus.
Yes why not...I like Nigerian food..Its good...
Your question contains the words "Nigeria" and "honest" which is an oxymoron.
Of course I would eat at a West African Restaurant. Their food is wonderful, I am surprised there are not more of them in London.
yeah, its probably like mideastern food
maybe i would if i knew what i was eating? i like to know whats in my food, no offence!!
Yes why not...
I lived in Central Africa and learned to love the food after trying it a little. I love N. African food and most other African dishes.
The trick is to pick a good restaurant, just as you would with any other type of restaurant. Some places are greedy and charge too much for cheap ingredients; other places make the best food they can for a reasonable price.
I have found many fine African restaurants in the states and in Europe. So check out the place and be prepared to be surprised. You probably won't like the taste of everything the first time but you can develop a taste for African cooking just as you may love sushi or maybe you haven' t developped that taste (like me.)
Totally there food rocks cuz its so full of flavor!!
Not if there was an American restaurant around..
That would be cool. I'd like to try all of them. It's cool tasting new foods. It shows the cultures of the counties/ethnic groups. Pulse, looking back at it, I've never tasted anything(or can't remember) eating much foods with African flavor in it. I'll have to try it some time.
yes,ill try any think once, if i like the food i go back again, if not i don't.
I live with a nigerian and I've tasted the food, I don't mind it, it's quite nice, but there always seems to be rice with every dish!
I've never been to Africa but I have several Nigerian and Ghanian friends. I'm not keen on the Nigerian food I have tried but I like most Ghanian food. 10 years after trying Banku for the first time my sons still talk about the fun they had that evening including eating with their hands etc I particularly like a meat stew with spinach which is delicious but I can't remember the name. I would definetely take my family to a West African restaurant but I suppose you have to be careful to cater for all tastes just as Chinese restaurants do..they provide chopsticks or knives and forks..and also put a few English style dishes on the menu.
To be honest I don't think I would by choice. When it comes to food I am pretty closed minded. I would not choose a French or German restaurant either, but I would happily choose a Chinese or Indian restaurant. Looking back it took other people to convince of their merits in the first place. If somebody said to me "come to this great Nigerian/French/Egyptian place I found" then I would probably go. I just wouldn't choose it on my own.
when my husband and i were still living in Ottawa, we saw a couple of African restaurant (cant exactly sure what country though). we always said to each other we have to try those restaurants as we never tried African meals.
unfortunately we never really went to try as we lived far from the restaurants. now we have moved out of Ottawa and havent seen African restaurants yet in the new city.
but yes, i certainly would like to try African meals!
NO!
Whilst living out in Nigeria, the locals used to barbecue on the streets, just like hot dog, burger etc, vendors here.
They sold a product called 4x4!
Turned out to be a frigging dog!
That's why!
Yes I would. I love trying new kinds of foods and will enter any eating place that catches my fancy.
Sure! Why not!
Coz, African food is oh! so yummy!!!
Yes, because the same foods over and over are boring. Something new would be great.
I don't know...probably. I would look at the menu and see if there were things on it I wanted to eat. If it was all offal or fish I would be unlikely but if there were some unusual dishes that sounded attractive I would certainly try it. I have eaten everything all over the world such as snake, guineapig, llama, alpaca, yak, and testicles (only once mind!) If it sounds good and the price is right I would.
Definitely .. lots of good flatbread, nicely flavored rice and cous cous dishes .. braised meats .. not a lot of seafood, but nice vegetable stews .. I recommend it.
Bill should look at a map of Africa. Ethiopia is east Africa and a hell of a long way from Ghana or Nigeria. Answer to the question. Yes. When I worked at the Nigerian Embassy in Switzerland I found the meat a little dry, but it was edible. Probably not my first choice - but if someone else is paying, I'm up for it!
I haven't tried food from Ghana and would be willing to try it. I've been to Nigerian restaurant's in nigeria and they weren't bad...I haven't seen a Nigerian restaurant in the US Here it would depend on what they served, I really dislike draw soup (made from boiled okra) and pounded yam.
I definitely would.
I like to try different cuisines.
