Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(can anyone describe the taste of jack fruit?),it will help you,my kids.
Answers:
It's the texture as much as the taste that is unusual - they taste very "tropical" if that makes any sense. A little like papaya/mango/pineapple with a dense, ripe, almost slimy texture. Like durian fruit, there is a hint of a decayed component in the fragrance... hard to describe. It is more pronounced in durian - almost an onion kind of smell.
Other Answers:
i would describe the taste as a mixture of pineapple and banana.
I don't know
two types - one is the slightly lemonish colored "crunchy" type, 2nd one has a color like the ripe mango & an orange, "chewy soft somewhat slimy" textured.
u can buy them raw/frozen/can in sugar syrup/chips at the oriental markets.
personally, to describe the taste, it's like a cross between a banana & a mango. back home, we can even sundried the flesh to make jackfruit chips, just like banana chips. also, the seed is somewhat like a roasted chestnut when deep fried/baked.
overall, ppl. who tasted it says it taste like a juicy fruit chewing gum.
I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE jack fruit or durian .. It makes me thirsty and never liked the tasted of the fuits .. IT S SOO GROSSSSSSS .. it was very popular in Malaysia... EEWWW!
