no... here's a list of recipes. if you don't have oreos, the crumbs of any crisp chocolate cookie should work.

Grasshopper, common name for a group of orthopteran insects that have their hind legs enlarged and adapted for jumping. There are over 10,000 species worldwide, with a predominantly tropical distribution.

Grasshoppers are medium- to large-size insects, 1.3 to 13 cm (y to 5 in) long when fully grown. They have short, sturdy antennae, a saddle-shaped pronotum (segment on the thorax), and usually two pairs of wings when adult. The wings may be reduced or absent, and females may have much shorter wings than males.

Young grasshoppers hatch from the egg as miniature versions of the adult, but without wings. They grow by moulting, through several nymphal instars (seeMetamorphosis), developing wings at the final moult or ecdysis. The forewings are straight and toughened, the hindwings are membranous, fan-shaped, and may be brightly coloured, although the colour is only visible in flight.

Adult male grasshoppers may chirp or stridulate, usually by rubbing the inner side of the hind legs against veins on the forewing. The recognizable “songs” they produce are distinctive for each species and are used in courtship (seeAnimal Behaviour); some females also produce sounds. Their hearing organs are on the abdomen, just behind the junction of the hind legs with the body.

Females lay their eggs in batches, as egg pods, in the ground or just above it. Some species may show arrested development of eggs, called diapause, during adverse climatic conditions. In temperate zones there is usually an annual life cycle, but in tropical areas breeding may be continuous with several generations each year.

Grasshoppers have powerful mouthparts suitable for biting and chewing, and are herbivorous. They feed on a wide range of plants, including important crops, the most serious damage being inflicted by locusts. The migratory locust is widely distributed throughout the temperate and tropical parts of the Eastern hemisphere, although in temperate regions the gregarious form is rare.

The bladder grasshoppers are found in southern Africa only; adult males have a strongly inflated abdomen and stridulate by scraping the hind legs against ridges on the side of the abdomen. The ground-hoppers or pygmy grasshoppers are smaller relatives with an elongated pronotum and no ability to sing.

Scientific classification: Grasshoppers and locusts belong to the superfamily Acridoidea within the order Orthoptera. Other relatives are the true crickets and the bush-crickets or katydids. The migratory locust is classified as Locusta migratoria. The bladder grasshoppers belong to the family Pneumoridae, the ground-hoppers or pygmy grasshoppers to the superfamily Tetrigoidea, the true crickets to the superfamily Grylloidea, and the bush-crickets or katydids to the superfamily Tettigonioidea.

You have to buy or find, big grasshopper locust type(this are the best...very crunchies)
First, depend of what pie you mean, and how you want to eat them, alive or not...
You roast them first.
make your pastrie, very thin, so it could bake quickly
and this is how I love it...when they are very roasty, you inserted them in the pastrie..put a little pper, salt, coriander...and baked them no more time that takes the pastrie to cook LMOAT 10 MIN, IN 150 OR 180 C.
You must be sure your not alergic to grasshopper, and to buy them in a reliable store, because sometimes, they can come from crops that have been already posisoned

QUICK RECIPE FOR GRASSHOPPER PIE

1 cup boiling water

1 pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Brand Lime Flavor Gelatin

1/4 cup cold water

2 Tbsp. green creme de menthe

2 Tbsp. white creme de cacao liqueur

2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping

1 Chocolate Pie Crust (6 oz.)

STIR boiling water into gelatin in large bowl at least 2 min. until completely dissolved. Stir in cold water and liqueurs. Refrigerate 1-1/2 hours or until slightly thickened (spoon drawn through leaves definite impression). Gently stir in whipped topping.

SPOON into pie crust.

REFRIGERATE 3 hours or overnight. Store leftove pie in refrigerator.
WTF IS GRASSHOPPER PIE?
31 grasshoppers (live)
4oz grass
pkt frozen shortcrust pastry
tin of chicken soup
pinch of nutmeg
clove of garlic

Whilst still alive, pin the grasshoppers down and de-leg them all. Put them into a lidded container and place in fridge. Roll out the pastry and line a 9inch baking tin. Crush the garlic and add to the soup, place in tin. Roughly cut up the grass and add to tin. Have the top of pie ready to place over dish. Tip the grasshoppers in and add nutmeg and place pie-top over. Cook on gas mark 5 for 45 minutes (or until the screeching noises stop) allow to cool slightly and sprinkle with a bit of parsley.
Serve warm with baby potatoes and carrots.
ICKED UP GRASSHOPPER PIE

Ingredients needed:

* 2 1/4 cups Oreo cookies, crushed
* 1/2 cup melted butter
* 1 3/4 cups heavy cream
* 2 1/2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
* 4 egg yolks
* 1/3 cup sugar
* 3 ounces Crème de Menthe
* 1-ounce Crème de Cacao
* Chocolate curls, for garnish
* Mint Sprigs, for garnish
* Whipped cream, for garnish


Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.

In a bowl, combine the cookie crumbs and butter and mix well. Pour the crumbs into a 10-inch pie plate and press into the plate. Place the crust into the oven and bake for 5 to 10 minutes, remove from the oven and cool completely.

Add 1/4 cup of the heavy cream to the top of a double boiler. Add the gelatin and gently heat and remove from the heat and set aside. In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat egg yolks and sugar until pale and thick. With the mixer running, drizzle in the gelatin and cream mixture. Remove the egg yolk mixture from the mixer and fold in the liqueurs. Refrigerate for 4 hours until thickened. Whip 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream to stiff peaks. Fold the whipped cream into the thickened egg and gelatin mixture. Pour the mixture into the pie shell and refrigerate overnight. Remove the pie from the refrigerator and garnish with chocolate curls and mint sprigs and whipped cream.

Yield: 10 servings


Note: Instead of Oreo Cookies try your supermarket brand ofchocolate cookie with creme filling!
you dont have to use oreos they are just a name brand go to a cheap dollar type store or walmart and find chocolate cookies with a white filling their the same thing or just use the chocolate graham crackers for crust.

INGREDIENTS:

3-ounce package lime flavored gelatin
2/3 cup boiling water
1/2 cup cold water
ice cubes
2 tablespoons green crème de menthe liqueur
2 tablespoons white crème de cacao liqueur
3-1/2 cups non-dairy whipped topping, thawed
9-inch prepared chocolate cookie crumb crust, cooled
PREPARATION:

Completely dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Combine water and ice to make 1-1/4 cups. Add to gelatin, stir until slightly thickened. Remove any un-melted ice. Fold liqueurs into whipped topping. Use wire whisk to blend whipped topping into gelatin. Whip until smooth. Chill until mixture mounds. Spoon into crust. Chill for about 2 hours. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.
For Lower Calories- Use sugar-free gelatin, 2 teaspoons peppermint extract, 2 teaspoons chocolate extract and skip the crust.

GRASSHOPPER PIE

1 pkg. Nabisco chocolate wafer cookies
1 pt. jar marshmallow fluff
1/4 c. milk
4 drops peppermint extract
6-7 drops green food coloring
1 c. whipping cream, whipped

Line a pan with chocolate wafers. In mixing bowl, combine marshmallow, milk, peppermint, and food coloring. Whip until fluffy. Fold in whipped cream. Pour over cookies. Freeze until firm, about 8 hours.
