You could go to the bank and get a brand new fifty dollar bill and put it in a card. Or get fifty new one dollar bills and put it in a drawstring bag.
Or you could get a really pretty container of some type (box, basket, even a gift sack) and put 50 snack size candy bars (her favorite type) inside.
Make a gift basket with pretty robe, scented candle, bath oil, soap and scrubbie, bath pillow, a box of chocolates and a good book - wrap the whole thing in tulle and tie with a beautiful bow.

Hello Ann, This is Ammo, I will give you my thoughts of your question.If this is for your husband, brother Mother sister or friend it doesnt matter. I just atteded the 50th of a man I grew up with and what happened was this...his dear wife planned for 7 monthes to get the people he grew up with, went to school with, worked with etc. to come and celebrate with him. It was planned well and called "Operation Blown Away" It worked believe me! He was blown away and had a grand time. This was his wifes doings and when I saw your question I had to respond. My buddy recieved gifts and cards with a 50 dollar bill in each card. The most that affected him was his wife pulling the whole thing off without him knowing. I on my part baked 8 loaves of onion bread and roasted sunflower seed bread for the event. It was so memorable. If you look at my blog you will see him lookin at me like, What!? Is it you?! Really!? He was surprised to the max.
This I give to you Ann and It will be a blast if you pull it off

P.S. I drove 9 hours to get there and believe me if people are determined to be there they will. We who came had 5 monthes notice to rearrange scheduals and so on.

Although gift cards and gift certificates are nice, since it is your sister in law, I think it should be more personal. Often, what people want is just our time. Take her for a nice leisurely day out.
Examples - a walk in the park or on the beach...coffee in a nice quite spot...an art museum...lunch out in the air...a movie...etc.
That would mean so much more to me than anything I could unwrap and I am 54.
How about a whole day at the spa?
