heres a website with loads of kids party games
http://www.partygamecentral.com/pgcstand...
Get one of those slides with the water that you rent - you have an instant party.
good old musical bumps/chairs/statues!
for foods you can get hotdogs, ice cream, cake, and chips and dip
for games you can get the to play twister, play hide-n-go-seek, tag, freeze tag, candy land, and/or hi-ho-cherio!
for party bags you can put bracelets and barbie dolls and stuff like that
for prizes you can get like a book or something very pretty
get a bouncy castle
hopefully they won't get an appetite and you can sit and watch them play with your feet up
Hire the local church hall £20.
Get a disco and a magician £100
A whole load of party food £60
Invitations/ goody bags for the whole class £40
The look on your childs face - priceless!
Bouncy castle, paddling pool, a slide, a magician, clown, puppet show, karaoke machine for the kids to sing along to, play musical chairs, play music.
Food: Cocktail sausages, sandwiches, fairy cakes, sliced fruit, jelly, crisps, bread, chips, sliced veggies, rice, birthday cake.
Firstly, don't go mad with the food or you'll end up throwing lots away. For my daughter's party we had chicken drumsticks, mini sausages and pizza slices. We put out a couple of plates of biscuits and a couple of bowls of crisps. I would suggest only putting some of your food out at first and keeping some aside, so that you can put more out later if you need to. Otherwise if you put it all out you'll end up throwing more away afterwards - you not going to be likely to want to keep food that has been picked at and fingered by lots of kids! For drinks I got one of those realy big bottles of water, emptied out some of the water and added some juice.
For games we just did pass the parcel and musical statues. Asda sell lots of good prize ideas in their greetings card/giftwrap section - things like medals, bracelets, necklaces etc. They have a lot of good stuff for party bags too. I just put in a few toys, a couple of packets of sweets and a slice of cake in a serviette at the end.
Good luck!
You can try sending them to a theme party centre they specialise in kids parties and will cater for the whole so you do not have to worry about the whole thing. for example there are two places where I live jungle mania which is where i Live in bourne end buckinghamshire and and the other one is cheeky charlies which is in maidenhead Berkshire they organise childrens parties and activites or another way is Mc donalds do kids parties as well.
a pinata is always a hit, but for 6 year olds lose the blind fold and make the pinata move on the rope by pulling on it, everyone WILL get a turn and no kids should get hit, bean bag tic tac toe is a great game, make it boys against girls if the numbers are close, or teams of 2 against 2. have a play dough sculpting contest and let everyone vote in a hat, most votes wins, younger kids should team up, older kids by themselves. moon walk houses are noisy, but if you can stand it, great fun for them. try to avoid messy foods, and put out healthy foods where you can like a veggie dip tray with carrots sliced bell pepper (use the colored kind, colors make food more fun, red green yellow) avoid cauliflower, but broccoli is ok, pigs in a blanket with cheese are better than hot dogs on the messy factor, and instead of cake and ice cream, get an ice cream cake, it will be a hit trust me. pin the tail on the donkey, never gets old, use the sticker kind instead of real pins for safety, and a good old fashioned water pistol fight to tire them out just before going home, no super soakers, go to the dollar store and buy 2 for each kid (they usually come in 3 for a dollar packs and break easy) and you should have a good 4 hour event, and lots of happy kids.
we had a 6rr olds party 2 wks ago and bought a pinata from woolworths. kept the kiddies amused for ages be warned though you have to fill them yoursel. food we put white and black grapes , strawberrys and marshmallows on bamboo skewers and drizzled with chocolate huge hit with all. finger foods best things on sticks sarnies and buy some cheep sponge buns and put left over melted choc on them xxxx
Games:
Simon says

Pinata

Have a great party!
If the weather's OK, then games outside are good if you can get some music sorted.
Musical Islands: It works like musical chairs, but with paper plates or something else they can run and jump on.
Pinatas are good fun; pass the parcel; pin the tail on the donkey...you can buy packs from toys r us...loads of stuff.
if you're inside, get the kids sat down to eat at the table. If that's not possible, then get a plastic decorator's sheet for them to sit on and eat on that. Use disposable cups and plates and then when they re done, the whole lot can go in the bin.
create a theme :) concentrate on your daughter's favorites (cartoon character, color, hobbies, etc.) you can revolve around the theme by incorporating the idea into the snacks, goodies, etc.
ex:
Spongebob Squarepants
Snacks: square bread, spread some cheese, add olives (eyes), etc. OR imitate the crabby patties
Juice: pineapple juice (like spongebob's house)
Decor: under the sea theme
just an idea..:) heehee :)
I don't know one kiddie that doesn't like a 'Bouncy Castle'
They are the ultimate party MUST! They keep those cheeky monkeys occupied for hours, & tire them out Just in time for a snooze...
It'll keep them out of any trouble as they will be having too much fun!!
How bout making it even more fun with FANCY DRESS!
Pirates, Barbies & clowns all jumping around on a Bouncy Castle....Wicked!
But.No party in complete without PASS THE PARCEL! It'll also give the kiddies a chance to catch their breath!
As for food..kids rarely eat when having fun so I would specifically make a slot for 'CAKE TIME' (they need to eat but make it fun) They dont want to be pulled away from the FUN Bouncy Castle to EAT!!!
Sit them round a big blanket with paper plates, Bring out the cake, sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY & they can all relax, eat their piece of cake & have a drink before they get back to being CRAZY!!
You dont need to spend a bucket load of money just make it FUN..
check http://www.foodnetwork.com you might get some ideas.
I haven't got any kids hun so can't help there...it's funny though because at 41 you think I would have had some by now ;-)
*winks*
Here's a not thought of theme -
Real Life Heroes - Fire, Police, EMT
Contact the public affairs office of your local Police, Fire and EMT departments and see if they have someone who could be a "guest" at your son's party -
Officer Friendly brings a squad car and gives a tour of it's contents etc. And then he could go over what to do in an emergency - or when a stranger approaches them etc. = have each child fingerprinted and such as part of the activity.
Maybe McGruff the Crime Dog could come as a guest.
Or Fireman Fred can bring his personal equipment - helmet, oxy-tank etc. and show the boys how it's worn and what to do in case of a fire.
Or Emmet the EMT guy with a real ambulance - and go over some basic first aid skills.
Maybe there's a drug dog who can visit your house. and his handler could go over what to do when someone offers the kids drugs - what to say and who to speak with about it.
It's a great way to introduce your son and his friends to the real way to handle emergencies - instead of what they see on TV.
As for food: Pizza, pigs in blankets, PB&J, cut fruit bits, cut veggie bits, cake and ice cream - decorate the cake in the police/fire/emt you got to come.
Party bag - again keep with the theme - a badge for police, a small first aid kit (from the $1 store) for EMT etc.
Mary,
If the weather permits, and you think it will be a hot day:get a
small backyard pool,& maybe a slip&slide ,cheap water guns,
ballons,favourite cake flavor,lots&lots of icecream.
do what you done last time... get the bouncy castle!
it is the ultimate attraction!
think about it, if the bouncy castle is there, after the party somebody who stays in thier room who's name begins with "R" may be out all night playing on it with meeeeeeeeeee.
what about making it a themed (dress up in there favourate character) and possibly hire a bouncy castle they are usually about 70 pounds for the day but just depends on what you have to spend as this usually works for my 8 and 4 year old shell
