I assume this is a summer time get together and with that in mind.. Choose a theme, doesn't have to be anything conventional. It may be based on something you are serving (i.e. margaritas) you would then build off of the drink. If you ares sending invites choose something related. Or, if it is simply a "lets get together after work" make it a childhood game night. Offer, some favorites ( checkers, monopoly, twister) and then build your menu and drinks around that. To sum it up, choose a theme based on some aspect of the gathering and build. Note: this does not have to get expensive, so don't let that deter you. It can be as inexpensive or elaborate as you want it.
