Well with the grapes i belive it is 12 grapes. You put it in a bowl everyone sits around the tv or whatever you are doing to let you know it is 12:00 and you have till 12:01 to get all twelve chewed and swallowed if you do then you should have good luck all year long. If you eat greens on new years you should have a lot of green (money) that year. I'm not sure of any hope this helps though!
In the south we believe that cabbage will bring you $$$$ So, eat cabbage on New Year's day!! We also believe that black eyed peas are your change$$ or good luck so, if you eat black eyed peas you will have lots of luck and change$$!!
