Anything that isn't spicy or salty (due to fingers going near eyes, skin and things). Normally there is a period between times when people can eat. (just a little tip, make sure there is no food on the floor, as this makes it a little difficult for everyone/consultant to move around.) Plenty of alcohol, makes the party more fun and they spend more, which means more goodies for you!! hehe
I say order 4 times as much food than you think you will need so you can sit all evening complaining about how you "shouldn't really eat this" and "oh, I'm being sooooo bad by eating this" and not to mention.."God, I'm going to look like a beached whale".
As for the food, vegetables, brown rice, dips and ice lollies.
fresh veg sticks are good with avocado and cream cheese dip. i like crackers with cheese and cherry tomatoes or crisps with greek yogurt for a dip.

finger sandwiches are good-like cream cheese and cucumbers
or you can do fruit kabobs or mozz cheese,tomatoe and pepperoni kabobs
carrot sticks/ranch dip
hia cup cakes , angel delight with spinkles or smarties ,
mouses , milkshake with cream or squirty cream or ice cream
all of witch i have found to be a hit
brownies with smarties and ice cream i have also found to be a hit along with fruit tarts like jam & lemon with squirty cream on top

At a small gathering like this just nibbles is fine, plus it leaves more room for drinks!
Id serve various Crisps, Nuts, popcorn, cut carrots/celery sticks and dips, then maybe have a few pizzas in the freezer to throw in the oven later when everyones nice and drunk!
Canapes and pastries are nice and posh, but they take time to make and keep nice, but when its all girls together we want salty crisps and nuts! then pizza!
My choice anyways!
