Kitty said: Yes.Graduation reception?-I try seach this on internet but no results found.Maybe this is a stupid question.
Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(Graduation reception?),it will help you,my kids.
I am planning a small open house for my daughter for her senior graduation. I am wanting to serve cake, some pastries, veggie/meat plates and sodas...or is a meal more appropriate? She isn't into the attention, and we don't know a whole lot of people, so we are keeping it low-key...any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
Answer:
Veggie/Meat trays work well for this. Since it's open house people will be coming at various times so you wouldn't want to do a meal. When I did my grandsons we did the trays, chips dip.potaoto salad, baked beans and of course the cake. Sort of Picnic style. Things worked out great for everyone.
Yes, low key appetizers sound good. You could even grill before hand and have a nice selections of dishes! consider catering your small gathering from a great place like Whole foods, or your local grocer, it should work out well. Go small snacks!
hello, i would go with finger foods, chips dip, sandwiches, and drinks,,you have the right idea, and congrats to her!!
I prefer finger sandwiches to meat and veggie trays their tends to be less waste. They are easy to make and look attractive while not costing that much. Also, pasta salads keep well and are easy to make ahead and serve. Fruit salad is easy to make and also a do ahead thing that is lovely to serve just chop a variety of your favorite fruit and I use Cool Whip and a bit of Marshmallow Fluff for a dressing Cool Whip over Fluff 2 to 1. Have fun with your party and Congratulations to your daughter.
I think a Taco Bar is great - Soft shell or hard shell with the condiments. Always fun. Not a lot of fuss and the decorating is fun.
Decide if you have enough people coming to warrant a "dinner" event. Open house brings to mind foods that can be refilled at various times during the evening. Keep it low key and "teen friendly":
1. Pizza bread (or pizza)
2. Wings (teriyaki and buffalo with sauce)
3. Carrot and Celery stix with Ranch Dressing
4. Chips and dip
5. Fresh fruit kabobs with yogurt dipping sauce
6. cupcakes, brownines, cookies
I say don't bother with a meal unless you are going to have it in the evening. Usually graduation parties are in the afternoon anyway. My only issue with serving meat trays is that they generally look lonely on the table. It is really importatnt to have tons of condiments. I have done this really easily at my supermarkets salad bar. That way you can get just enough russian dressing, hot peppers and sliced olives that you need, among other things. I would also suggest making a few salads. Honestly though, you can get the catered for just a few dollars more, and it will come with a wide array of condiments, bread, pickles, and meats.
Sounds good so far.I would just add a few chips and dips, cheeses with a pretzel stick, and maybe some meatballs in BBQ sauce, for someone who hasn't eaten dinner.Have Fun and tell your daughter congratulations.
