for my science project i was thinking of doing that but i would try 2 put the lid on and see if it explodes. do u think it would work?

that'd be pretty sweet....u should try it, but i'd experiment quite a bit first and see how long it takes ya to drop the mentos in....u gotta be quick at it...good luck :)
I don't think you could get the lid on fast enough. That would be a good science project as long as you go outside to do it.

Yeah--definitely go outside. It goes all over the place in NO time.
it isn't like a drano bomb where you get a few seconds to put the cap on and run away, as soon as the mentos hits the soda PLOW goes the carbonation.
You'd have to be pretty fast to put the lid on. Four mentos and diet pepsi works but if you want the stream to go higher try get six mentos in there.
I saw these two store clerks doing that trick in the parking lot. It was hillarious.
Ive done it!! Start chewing the mentos, then drink coke. It works!!
just have fun but be careful you could get hurt in the process
Use dry ice instead of mentos...It takes longer for the effect, so you have more time to put the cap on and it makes a much cooler explosion :)
