CANDY
can?dy? /?k?ndi/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[kan-dee] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation noun, plural -dies, verb, -died, -dy?ing.
–noun 1. any of a variety of confections made with sugar, syrup, etc., often combined with chocolate, fruit, nuts, etc.
2. a single piece of such a confection.
3. Slang. cocaine.
–verb (used with object) 4. to cook in sugar or syrup, as sweet potatoes or carrots.
5. to cook in heavy syrup until transparent, as fruit, fruit peel, or ginger.
6. to reduce (sugar, syrup, etc.) to a crystalline form, usually by boiling down.
7. to coat with sugar: to candy dates.
8. to make sweet, palatable, or agreeable.
–verb (used without object) 9. to become covered with sugar.
10. to crystallize into sugar.
I love sour candy.
That being said, I think most candy is sweet. For example, sour patch kids are sweet candy covered by sour crystals (or whatever the technical term is). If you rinsed them off (gross) or sucked on them, I imagine they'd end up sweet. Same for lemonheads and even sour warheads.
So, I think it's a matter of whether you want only sweet or a combination.
I'm sure there's some weird not sweet candy out there though.

I prefer tart.
