Answer:
don't know happy birthday any way
I am going to a 50th birthday party in a Clerkenwell club this week-end. If it's a promising venue do you want the details?
Well there are lots of them, take your pick, but it will be expensive to hire a whole bar. I haven't been to London for a while but there was a good place just off Liecester Square called Zoo which had another bar downstairs that might be available for hire.

Happy birthday.
You can hire one of the top floors at Guys Hospital, or the Equinox Leicester Square.
Jack, try 'The Last' in EC4.
It's large enough for a good number of people, but still cozy. I've been to a private event here, and am happy to recommend it. The web page below includes a 'Venue Hire' link.

Hope you have a great time, wherever you go!
Smolenskys Balloon
I'm looking for one too. Farringdon seems to be the place to go - plenty of trendy late night bars with dancing downstairs - search 'venues east london'.

happy hunting
Try Smollenskys on the Strand.
Lizard Lounge, 33 Caledonian Road, Kings Cross. I was there for a bday party last weekend and she hired the whole place out - it's literally round the corner from Kings Cross train station so totally accessible to everyone, it's quite small but you can hire the whole place, which must fit 60 or so people i guess? Really funky decor and great bar staff - and the bar manager really knows how to make a good drink. Music and dancing actively encouraged xx
BELUSHIS OR ST CHRISTOPHERS INN.

Both on Borough High Street SE1 and both a perfect place for private hire.

I hired out St Chris once and it was a great night.

ENJOY
The loop bar is a great venue, it's just off Oxford Street and you can hire a private area free of charge, also another place is Ruby Blues in Leicester Squre, very trendy bar with great music.
