Last yr. for my b-day he took me to Chilis' & had my friends already be there bu tin a nohter part of the restaurant, when the waiter came to sing all my friends started popping up out of nowhere & sang along until almost everyone on that side of the restaurant was singing along. So for his b-day I want to take him someplace that will make a really BIG deal about it. I don't mind paying extra as long as they really EMBARASS him, funny like .. not rude-like. I will also have his friends there & would like to eat there too... if possible. It has to be somewhere in or near Los Angeles, CA. If anyone has any ideas or preferable recommendations let me know. There's a place called Ed Debevic's, a 50's style diner with really cool waitstaff that dress up & act in character the whole time you're there. They make a big deal out of b-days, in a goofy way. Look it up on the web... I want to say it's toward the west side, maybe on La Cienega?
Ed Debevics would have been a great suggestion but I heard that they actually closed down the LA location. :[
I've never personally been here, but I've heard about Tokyo Delves in Hollywood being a loud, ridiculous sushi bar. Supposedly every night ends up with someone up dancing on the tables so it sounds like you can get the customers as well at the waitstaff to help humilate your boyfriend. Also looks like a good place to drink. Have fun!

Yamashiro Restaurant in L.A. (1999 N. Sycamore Ave Phone# 323-466-5125 or 323-512-8935) has a beautiful view and delicious CalAsian cuisines. I try to go whenever I'm back in L.A.
Check out both areas (call or email or check their sites) and see if they do anything special for birthdays. Maybe you can talk to a manager and set something up for your boyfriend.
