I've done the chocolate covered strawberries, veggie trays and cakes and cookies. Looking for something else and would like to keep it weight friendly.

Answer:
Fruits like grapes or strawberries with a small assortment of cheese and crackers. Very easy, no fuss. It's not like a dinner party after all.
Have you done the veggies trays with hummus dips? And OO below has a great idea in using Pita Chips!

You could make up a few different types of salads, like a big lettuce one, a pasta one using veggie pasta, you can keep them low cal.

Cheese and whole wheat crackers, use cheeses that are unique and new to you.
cheese and crackers?
i Love Banana Chips.
mini sandwitches
veggie trays or fruit ^_^
Flavored bagels and light cream cheese.
Pita chips and hummus
Yogurt
Trail Mix
Pretzels
Bagels and cream cheese.
Granola bars of some sort? You can get them with little chocolate chips in them but I wouldn't exactly call them "sweets." They're supposed to be quite healthy as they contain a lot of grains, though I suppose it depends on what kind you get.
you can take ritz crackers and a bunch of toppings and let people build thier own snack. peanut butter, sliced apples, ham and cheese, etc.
Instead of putting yourself out there ... how about asking everyone to bring a snack and make it pot luck?
Suggest that they can bring ethnic or favorite recipes ...
less work for you, and new variety for all
Mix taco seasoning with creamcheese and spread a layer of that and a layer of sourcream on a flour tortilla and make layers of about 3 or 4, it will look like a tall pancake :) let sit in the fridge to chill and then cut like a pizza and serve :)
A tray of sliced carrots, celery and other vegetables along with selected dips is a good one.

A variety of cheeses along with both green and red grapes is also a nice touch. I would choose some aged cheddar, swiss, monterrey jack, emmental, and other firm cheeses that can be cut into cubes for snacking.

Depending on how much you are willing to spend, you can also do a tray of good quality meats, such as mortadella, prosciutto, and smoked turkey. Just roll these meats into tubes and place on a tray with a bunch of tooth picks in the middle.
You can make a healthy platter with carrot sticks, celery sticks, cottage cheese or yoghurt with FRESH chives or parsley as a dip, mango, pawpaw or melon pieces - that sort of thing.

A nice, big tomato salad from 8 or 9 types and colors of tomato, diced with herbs and some olive oil goes nicely on crackers.

Sweet chilli sauce and some pita bread with eggplant and tzatziki dips and maybe some dolmadakia (vine leaves stuffed with rice and spices - yum!) for a bit of spice.
Cut up fresh fruit and to make a dipping sauce add about 2 tbs honey to 2 cups sour cream and add a dash or two of nutmeg. You can change the amounts to taste. With a few bowls of shelled nuts you should have it! Hope you like! I got the sauce recipe from Tan Tara at Lake of the Ozarks when I was on my honeymoon years ago!
How about a cheese and fruit tray? Finger sandwiches?
YOu can get a meat plate made up at local grocers from the meat department. This could be meats and cheese and you buy crackers.

IT is also the time of year to warm up your barbeque skills. Maybe you could buy some veggies and some chicken and or steak and make kababs.

Anyways just a couple of ideas, hope it is a sucess, and good luck!
I love a fruit and cheese platter, include some nuts in it too. Also, salsa is low fat and tastes great.

Hope this helps you.
fruit wedges (apples and pears work well) with a fruit dip like caramel or you can look online for a less sugary dip

an assortment of crackers with a crab dip or cheese toppings

potato skins with sour cream dip or baked with cheese, bacon bits, and than topped with sour cream after baking. Use the insides of the potatos to make baked french fries that can be frozen for next meeting

nachos are always great and very customizable

My uncle used to make a great Ritz cracker munchie. It was crab or fake crab mixed with mayo, smeared on a Ritz, topped with sliced black olive. Very yummy, very rich and I used to only eat 4 or 5 of these at a time.

large pretzels are great served with nacho cheese or some other dip

bran muffins

oatmeal breakfast bars (can find alot of recipes online to make these low fat or however you want)

apple crisp

You can search Kraft Foods website for hundreds of other ideas.
Cucumber and Tuna Bites:

Tea sandwiches

crostini

biscotti and coffee or tea
How about making a veggie stir fry, its not really a snack, but you could serve small bowls, so people don't make a meal out of it, with plain white rice. Healthy and delicious. Brain food!
Hmmm --- you're not leaving many party-friendly choices --- what is healthy that isn't fruit and veggies and isn't too messy to eat while handling books?

Sliced fresh apples, pears, peaches with thin slices of cheese
Baked tostitos and some good salsa
olives
Water crackers with a bit of cream cheese and a dab of jam
sushi
toast squares and caponata (italian relish)
pita wedges and hummus
liquorice allsorts

Hope this helps
