Is is just us Brits that have the Friday/Saturday/Sunday night pub culture. By that I mean are we the only ones in the world that to constitute a good night means to waste around £100 get totally drunk (and usually be sick (sometimes in the street)) and consider only this to be a good night out? I mean where I live now, the only good thing people can say about the town is that it is a good night out, nothing to do during the day but come nighttime then the town opens up. I must say that it has come to a sad state of affairs if this is the case.

Answers:
I am sure that it exists everywhere. I had friends who spent their paychecks on getting stupid drunk on the weekends..I guess we have all grown up, because we don't do that as much as we used. We sometimes meet at our favorite bar, and drink and have fun, but I don't remember anyone getting stupid drunk in a long time... The last time we all got drunk was at a party at my house... We had fun, played darts, had some great food, joked around a lot... generally enjoying each others company... we didn't spend a ton of money, and none of us were hungover or sick the next day.

Maybe it's just a different age group... My town is a college town, and I bet the college kids are doing that partying stuff.

There's also the fact that in this town there are tons of outdoor activities, and we all want to be fit to do them. We ski, hike, mountain bike, go fishing, camping, hiking. It's kinda hard to do anything like that if your head is on fire and you feel sick... Also we can't afford gear, if we spend all our cash on alcohol. Different Strokes for different folks I guess.
