My daughter is having her senior piano recital in our home on this Sunday at 2:30pm.
We are overwhelmed with the response of how many family and friends want to come.
We thought her close friends and grandparents - now, by work of mouth, the total is up to 45. Are there any quick, easy recipes for a sparkling punch and fun dessert? We are looking for something cool, refreshing and fun. It will be a casual affair with a swim party after. Any idea?

Here is a recipe for a cake I know will be delicious and the talk of the party. Trust me, when i make it.I get asked to make it for the next event. 45 people? Not sure how many cakes you will need maybe 3? Anyway you will need the following for each box of cake mix you decide to make.
1 box of Strawberry cake mix
1 tub of cool whip (almost all the way thawed)
1 box of instant vanilla pudding
and 1 bag of frozen strawberries (thaw out in fridge the night before-whatever u do, make sure these are thawed all the way)

Make cake and let cool
Spread thick layer of vanilla pudding all over top of cake
Top entire cake with THAWED strawberries
Then top with lots of cool whip

Pat with spatula to make pretty (sticking up things)

Thats it!!!!!!! Easy! Easy! Easy!

Here is a great hint. Go to the dollar store or grocery store and by a roaster tin pan (the kind you can trash afterward) Roaster (meaning the height is almost double a regular size cake pan) this is very important, because once your cake rises it will almost come to the top of a regular pan and you will not have room for the goodies!

I can give you a dessert. chocolate covered strawberries and marshmellows

Ok something that we do in our family are jello pies. What you do is simply get a pudding mix and make it with a little less milk so it is firm and some cool whip and stir. You can also do this with jello. Make the jello and combine with cool whip and you can even add fruit. Like if you get peach jello, just add some fresh peaches.

For the pie shell get some of those nilla wafers crust or whatever ones you prefer in the baking section. Then add the mixes and put in the fridge. You can do a few of them and put them in your fridge to get cool. It would be a nice and refreshing treat in summer and it takes about 5-10 minutes each to make. :) Go to

They have everything abouth everything!!!!! A great tasting and refreshing punch, is to simply take a box of frozen Sherbert, Orange, Lime, or Pineapple or Rainbow, place it in a punch bowl and pour a 2 litter of Ginger Ale over the top. Spoon the Ginger-ale over the Sherbert till it just begins to melt--Soo Delicious and minimal calories especially if you use Diet Ginger Ale or Mountain Dew.
For Dessert take a box of Pistachio Pudding, add a can of crushed pineapple, a cup of pecans or cashews, a half of a small jar of cherries cut in half and one tube of cool whip. Mix together and refresh!!!!!!!!!!!

1 8oz tub cool whip thawed
1 cup chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon (more if you like)
Box of Vanilla Wafers

Melt chips in microwave in 30 sec intervals. Mix vanilla and cin. into the cool whip. Pour melted chocolate into the cool whip mixture and blend. Put in fridge to set for about a 1/2 hour. Serve dip with Nilla wafers.

EVERYONE always asks me to make this or asks for the recipe. It takes about 5 minutes to make the whole thing!!!

Pampered Chef This is the easiest dessert I think I have ever made. And it only has 4 ingerdients.
Take an angel food cake and slice thru it to make 3 layers.
One large box vanilla pudding (leave mix dry)
1 can crushed pineapple in juice
1 and 1/2 cups coolwhip.
Place bottom layer on cake platter first..

mix pudding, pineapple and coolwhip together and spread between layers of angelfood cake. If there is enough filling mixture left over then also put on top of cake. This is a very light dessert. You can also make it almost fat free by using lowfat pudding mix and coolwhip. Its also very pretty after its all layered together. If you really want to make an impression.after all layers are done..place a few strawberry's around the platter and sliced strawberry's on the top. If you make this...please let me know what you think....
Oh..the name of this is " Angle Lush"
