Planning an event for vegetarians and want to have a nice spread. Any ideas for a salad bar buffet? I need about 15-20 ideas (not recipes). So far I am planning a pasta salad and a tomato/basil salad.

taht is great , you can also make some fruit salad, but different thoug. Grapes and apples with strawbery sauce. Carrot drinks
Tomato and pasta
put a variety of veggies (just like a salad bar) tomatoes,cukes, cauliflower,brocoli, cheeses, croutons sunflower seeds,,etc...and a few different dressings,make there own salad!
cut up fruit usually goes well also,with maybe a strawberry yogurt.
coleslaw goes good too.
What about carrot/raisin salad, Waldorf Salad (apples & celery), dilled potato salad, Caponata (italian eggplant relish), ratatoullie (eggplant, zucchini & tomato), several nice cheeses, and of course individual veggies, fruits and nuts, so your guests can put together the type of salad they like best.
Do one that has beans in it - that way you include something filling. Edamane or soy are always good.

~Texas (or Southern) Caviar, salsa made w/ black-eyed peas (google it)
~hummus
~sliced boiled eggs
~Spinach
~Romaine
~shredded purple cabbage
~shredded carrots

not a bar item, but one of my fav summertime drinks is cucumber water! Just wash and slice them over spring water and chill.
Plus, don't forget the bean sprouts!
Fruit salad placed in a watermellon is always cute. There's also the traditional fruit/veggie Kabob that always looks beautiful. You could even purchase or make an edible arrangement with the kababs.
Corn salad is another good choice
Olive dishes are good too.
I also wouldn't forget to just have a traditional salad with nuts, raspberry walnut dressing, blue cheese and sliced strawberrys in it. Ken's steak house has a great dressing.
Hope this helps. You've got a lot of choices which is a godo thing. Hope your party goes well. I've never heard of a veggie salad bar. It sounds like a lot of fun.

German cold Oktoberfest potato salad
corn with red and orange peppers and rosemary garlic vinaigrette

I like different types of fondue. You can make cheese fondue or some for desserts such as chocolate or caramel. Also use different things to dip in like, fruits, pretzels carrots, broccoli, and different types of bread sticks and rolls.
