I hope these sites help!!!

and this...
"How Do I Serve Cheese?
Serve all cheeses at room temperature! Remove cheeses from the refrigerator at least an hour before serving. Hard cheeses take longer to reach room temperature. As a rustic peasant food, cheese displays well on wood or marble or stone boards, surrounded by fruits (simplest - a bunch of grapes), nuts, crusty bread and wine. Try to avoid cubing or slicing in advance, and put out one cheese knife or cheese plane per cheese. For a big crowd, where self-service is key, you may pre-slice or cube, but the cheese will dry out quickly and, as a display technique, it's fairly cheesy. If you must precut cheese, use a covered cheese dome."

Other Answers:
I would recommend you remove the rinds for the reasons you point out. It makes it easier for the guest to just enjoy the snacks.

Sometimes you could tell by the color (usually red is waxed)
If its not edible you remove it
...or get sued by stupid celebs that choke on it..

.yes. no way - - unless it is in red waxy. parm and other hard cheese or brie - leave it on. it's more classy, and it helps retain the flavor better

Let the guests remove the rind. Serve small plates with the cheese tray & the guests can use them for the rind.

it depends on the cheese... some will come in a wax seal that your guests can quite easil remove themselves 9of course, you can do this fo r them first)... but some cheese, like Brie, you can eat the rind so ...no, don't remove it.
