I am hosting a rehearsal dinner for my son & his fiance for their wedding. It is being held at a steakhouse, in a private room. Does anyone have any suggestions for a "theme" I can use for the party?
The wedding is in November with an "autumn leaf" theme/thing going on. I mean, the colors are fall colors and a maple leaf icon is being used on alot of the items.
I didn't really want to go with the same theme for the rehearsal dinner.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!!

Hi, sounds like fun! This might work and be a lot of fun... Every couple has songs that are significant to them; it might be their "special song" or music that they were listening to when they were dating. How about a musical theme where you provide the lyrics to love songs, wedding songs or some of the couple's favourite songs; Since it is a private room, you might even consider a karaoke machine set up and throughout the evening, some guests might feel like getting up and singing a love song to the couple on the karaoke. I am sure that whatever you decide, it will be fun and a successful evening!

How about riding into the sun set... you can have a semi-western theme and similar colors.
You might want to go for a winter type theme. White candles maybe dark burgundy accents. In November, you are between both seasons, so play up the winter theme.
the riding in to the sunset one is great, but if you wnat something totally unrelated and just kinda fun... do tropical or beach. those a great to have
One thing we did that everyone loved was photoconfetti. We took pictures of our son and his fiance and sent them to this service that made confetti out of them. The photos ranged from babyhood to adulthood and included siblings. I think it was ten or so different pictures. I sprinkled them all over the tables. Everybody loved this idea. I also did a photo montage of them from baby to adult set to music and showed to the crowd. That was a hit, too. I don't know if you really need a specific theme. Everyone is just gearing up for the wedding and that's the big moment.
Definitely western, blue jeans and bandanas and plaid shirts.
There are good ideas and reasonable prices at

ivy bowls with floating candles in them on the tables with maybe a Burgundy bow on the ivy bowl. the floating candles come in many shapes.. and colors.. they both can be gotten at craft stores, at a pretty reasonable price.. toule comes in many colors also, to be made into bows for the table corners with the wedding color of small silk flowers in the center of them.. those can also be found at the craft stores like Michael's or Hobby Lobby. there are small acrylic shoes and swans for decoration. the fall bushes and silk flowers should be in the stores then.. should be garlands, wreaths, vines scarecrows, bails of hay, small tin buckets for votive candles. curling ribbon in many colors, curled and placed randomly on the tables. confetti, all sorts of birds and butterflies, string crystal beads on wire and weave them around things on the tables, the clear crystal beads will sparkle.. glitter If you do go with the fall leaves, there is sparkle paint that you can use on them to make them prettier.. it can be found with the regular acrylic paints or the fabric paints.. glittered or jeweled place cards. found on the bead aisle and the memory book aisle.. get a scrap book, and let the guests write in memories of the couple.. make sure to have lots of disposable camera's there..
