beef steak
Pressure-cooker stew:

Use a large pressure cooker. Add water to the pot until it is just under the level of the inner tray.

Note: the relative size of the cut vegetables is critical, since you are cooking them simultaneously.

Add:

Two pounds of beef steak, cut in cubes approximately 1 1/2 square-inch.

6 potatoes, peeled and cut in pieces approximately 2 square inches.

4 carrots, peeled and cut in 1 1/2 inch pieces
4 stalks of celery, cut in 1 1/2 inch chunks

2 large onions, cut into generous wedges (sliver to 1/2 inch at the wider edge).

1 cup frozen green beans

1 cup frozen corn

Close lid and heat on high until the rocker starts rocking furiously. Turn down a notch so the rocker still rocks, but more calmly. Cook for about 8 minutes, or until the steam smells like cooked meat and potatoes.

Place covered pot in sink and run cold water over the top until it whistles. Remove lid and use a long fork to remove the tray from inside.

Open 2 large cans of tomatoes and cut the tomatoes into smaller pieces. Add the tomatoes and juice to the pot.

Season with pepper and beef bouillion (consider each bouillion cube or packet to be one teaspoon salt).

Serve with bread and real butter, and a glass of milk.

You can eat this right away, but it improves with age, so you can reheat it all weekend. Why not? It's delicious AND nutritious, and no matter how much you eat, it never feels heavy. You'll be super-charged for all your weekend fun!
