Answers:
Karaoke with an 80's theme. If they are celebrating it this year, then they got married in '81. Find some totally radical songs from that year and the years around it and do karaoke.

Other Answers:
Set them up at the same place they had their honeymoon. If it's too expensive, somewhere similar, but cheaper.

A photo cd With music. Can't go wrong playing that for everyone. give them a second honeymoon package to their favorite destination

I had a friend that gave her parents a party...she asked each guest to submit at least one picture of their best times with the couple. She made a slide show and it turned out wonderful.

Recreate what their wedding theme was...if they went to vegas to elope maybe create a vegas theme...ect,... Invite all friends and family. Grill some hamburger, bar-b-que, hotdogs. have a huge cake. Get some balloons. Whatever you think your parents would like.

My parents also have it so if you have favourble finance let them have their own time you know like send them out somewhere out of the country somewhere.Like on world tour. And let them have their own time togeather i mean only two of them..So they that they can refresh their memories and all..

As for a menu:
Roast Pork with Rosemary, and Gorgonzola Sprinkles
Steamed Asparagus with Buttered and Toasted Garlicy Bread Crumbs
Scalloped Potatoes
Mesclun Salad with shaved carrots , Craisins, Toasted Pecans, and Raspberry Viniagrette
Anniversary White Cake with Buttercream Icing with Fresh Red Roses cascading down the front of 3 Tiers

I like Pauly's answer since they were married in the eighties (80's karaoke). Get a photo of them blown up to life size and make a carboard cutout stand of them...Check with local sign makers for this. Have everyone sign the photo before your parents arrive at the party. Make guests wear eighties clothing like, leg warmers, punk clothing, Watch Madonna's style in "Desperately Seeking Susan" for ideas. Get a book about the eighties in the library for ideas. Have your guests submit a funny memory of your parents well before the party...read these memories aloud at the party for everyone to enjoy. If there are too many of them..then lay them out on a table for all to enjoy and read. Gather as many photos of your parents as you can find and make a photo collage on an exhibit black board (find these at office supply stores)- put funny sayings under the photos.n Show our parents from the start of their marriage up to now in pictures. Guests will love to look at it and see if they are in any of the photos too.
The karaoke idea will keep things lively and fun. So many people love to sing and even those who can't love to get up and try. You can keep it reasonable if you are on a buudget by doing most of the work yourself but start ahead of time. Spend your money on good food and entertainment like a DJ or karaoke man. Get friends family to help you decorate. If the event is going to be at your house..have everyone bring a favorite dish. People love to show off their cooking/baking skills and it will cut down on costs.
If you don't want people to spend alot of money on gifts or if your parents have everything they need...tell guests not to bring a gift but to bring a lottery ticket for your parents as their admission ticket to the party. Everyone can spend a dollar or two on lottery tickets and your parents might scratch off some big money.
Have friends decorate their car while your parents are at the party. They can write on the windshield and windows(with car chalk) "NOT just married" or "25 and still alive." Tie silver ribbons, bells, silver beer cans (Coors?) to the bumper. Stick witha silver theme but make it fun...not froo froo.
