The one nearest me here in Kentucky takes debit cards, but they charge you a dollar to use it. You can't use credit cards at all. This, combined with mandatory direct deposit, means I don't eat at KFC much.

In germany they dont take credit cards either. So I would say anywhere in the US does, outside doesnt.
Fast food places here in the San Francisco area have only started accepting cards within the last year. Problem is that until now the typical transaction size has been too small to justify the cost of card processing in the fast food industry.

...same thing in Wisconsin. It's less than a year ago that fast food places started allowing any sort of plastic (credit/debit) to be used. Thus far, it's not caught on and been popularized very much yet..but I'm sure it's the way things are going.
The one in my town in Ontario, Canada takes credit and debit cards but they don't deliver? What's that all about?
