most crayons are non-toxic anyways, and as long as parents watch their children like they are supposed to, the kid should be safe
i find that giving my daughter crayons to play with at a restaurant also keeps her from screaming at the top of her lungs of boredom and disrupting the people nearby
i think overall they are a blessing
they give crayons to kids to keep them ocupied . if you ever have
kids one day you will be glad they do .

I have never seen a crayon chop down a tree or not carry a recycling bin to a curb...so tell us how they destroy the environment?
I just think you were deprived as a child of a decent box of 64 crayons and a big coloring book.

Because kids like them and parents like bringing their kids to places that caters to kids as well!! Plus waiting stinks for lil kids when a kid is hungry 20-30 min for food seems like a lifetime!!Plus crayons do not hurt the enviroment, and my kids have never eaten a crayon..Why? Because I watch them!!

why dont you send your complaint to the restaurant.
It's not the crayons that are stupid but the parents and kids.
that is to keep the kids busy drawing. Think about it this way, it is a safety for the kids as well as they tends to run around and if one's not careful, hot food and plates can fall on them. who is to blame then? the parents for not looking the kids, but i doubt any parents will say is their fault for letting the kids running around, and blame the restuarant for not been careful, so as a precautions for such incidents they give out crayons to entertain the kids.

AND when the kids are busy coloring, they are not running around the restaurant disturbing other customers, and not getting in the way of employees who are trying to serve food. Plus, I think parents appreciate that the restaurant is kid friendly and family oriented.
