You want relatively simple food, that isn't going to be too new to either party. You don't want to be on a date and find that you really don't like calf tongue.

Also avoid rich food. On a date you're going to be nervous, food high in fat and/or dairy can cause people problems.

If you're cooking at home, again keep it simple, you don't want to be spending several hours in the kitchen as you're likely to be exhausted by the time your date arrives.

if you're eating out, make sure you choose a venue that you are comfortable with. You don't want a high class joint if you're used to simple diner food and vice-versa.

i find that fondues are great for those stay-at-home evenings. put on your favorite cd's, light some candles, pour the wine and voila! instant date!

p.s. and if you're REALLY good friends, you should wear your lingerie for dessert ... ;->
Spgetti its a great food to laugh about if you mess up because everbody knows its really funny!
Any place where the two of you will feel completely comfortable to actually eat whatever you want.
I always like any kind of pasta and bread and Salad. YUM
2 glasses of wine would be great
eating in the most expensive resturant
