the truth is that not all chefs were tall hats my father is a executive chef and he dosent were the tall hats at all and alot of chefs dont were them me my self i wear a bandana so even though it might show your rank in the kitchen alot of chefs and cooks prefar not wear those hats any more becuase there are so many diffrent styelled uniforms for the kitchen now
