Answers:
Because dessert is something special that you don't ordinarily have at home. Having dessert is a way of making the going out special even if you don't have room for it.

Other Answers:
cuz dessert is the best part!
for me i always have room for dessert :)
plus i can't resist i love sweet things!!!
cuz i always have room for dessert,, and you can get it to go if you want to eat it later,,,,, applebees had a special going (dont know if it still is), but you got an appetizer, entree and dessert for 1 price,,, that was a great deal,,,, we have a restaurant here==rj gators, that on your receipt they give you a phone number to call to take a 3 minute survey and then they give you a promotional code so next time you go, your dessert is free!!!!!!!!!
I don't, there is usually too much food to eat anyway. The portions are enormous!! Now, what I might do is have an afternoon snack of a sweet nature. In England they call it "tea", but they have all sorts of cakes n crumpets with it.
to prolong the event
Cause they pigs
Why not, you only live once.
I actually order Dessert first, and then eat the meal. Buck the conventional. Dessert is a great thing. My meals are usually small after that, hmmmm wonder if that should be the new fad diet?
Meals are usually savory, well desserts are sweet. A dessert is like the crowning jewel on a beautiful crown.
I know I have dessert when I'm out even if I'm full because I don't usually make desserts at home. It's a treat to go out for dinner and have dessert as well.
I think people should reverse their meals - eat a heavy breakfast, medium lunch, and light supper. All things chocolate or w/e should be consumed at breakfast or lunch. Eating in reverse would have people burning off the majority of calories during the day. Then they'll be smaller and lose weight.
