There are asteriks next to all of the DVs of the ingredients, so I'm thinking this statement might refer to the ingredients.

Actually, if there's any ingredient to investigate it would be glutamine, a protein. Though beans and nuts are sources of glutamine, so are fish, meat & dairy. There's no indication if the formulation in Airborne is synthetic or natural, let alone vegan.
Sorry not to have an answer, but I wanted to at least put you on the right path.
