I dont know what "vanilla honey" means exactly but it sounds like real honey spiced with vanilla. I suggest alternatives like tasty agave syrup. Here is something I posted earlier about the same subject: (Obviously honey is a product made by the bees and is for the bees; like cows milk it is not meant for humans)
Honey is made from nectar and produced by the bees. Nectar turns into honey in their stomachs and then bees throw it up. (yes its true!) Honey is bees' food. This is quoted from Wikipedia:

"The worker bees raise larvae and collect the nectar that will become honey in the hive. They go out, collect the sugar-rich flower nectar and return to the hive.

I would have thought honey would be ok as it is not an actual product of an animal.

Strict interpretation is ANYTHING form a live creature is not VEGAN.
I personally do eat honey, as it harms no bees in its harvesting. The bees go on to live & make more honey. Honey is very healthy.
