I don't know, but if I were you, I would put the thing back together without the valve and try running a cycle to see what happens.

Try putting the valve in the hose where the water goes over the grounds.Put the most open end toward the water tank. I hope this helps. Good Luck

I am a single mom of two, and therefore a penny pincher. When my coffee pot took darn near an hour to make a pot of coffee, I decided to run cleaner through it. I tried vinegar, then I tried blech, then I tried the stuff you can buy at WalMart. None of them helped. Hehehe... so I proceed to taking it apart. Oh, yeah. BAD hard water build up. I took it all apart, and cleaned all the hoses and pieces. BUT, inside one of the hoses, there was a little red plastic valve... I can't remember which hose I took it out of, or which way it went in that hose (had it laid on teh counter the way it needed to be, but one of the kids of mine had to be nosy - the 11 year old boy - go figure). CAN ANYONE HELP ME??????? no coffee is a BAD, VERY BAD thing!!!Answers:
