Answers:
i blended some lentils and added soy cheese. brewers yeast and onion salt. I thought i'd try it for lotsa of fiber and soy goodness and it turned out to taste rather good.
fat free plain yogurt and a packet of taco seasoning
avocado dip
AVOCADO DIP (Guacamole)
2 ripe avocados, peeled & mashed
1 clove garlic
1/4 c. mayonnaise
1/4 c. sour cream
1/2-3/4 c. chopped tomatoes
Squeeze of lemon
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Mix all ingredients and let stand, covered in refrigerator. Dark avocados seem less bitter than the smooth green ones. Lemon juice is added to stop the avocado from browning.
spinach dip
A layered Mexican, like refried beans, salsa, chopped olives and sour cream and chives on top.
hummus!
Try Cashew Dip - I have tried it and loved it!
1/2 cup cashew butter (see note)
2/3 cup vanilla soy yogurt
2 teaspoons agave nectar
1/8 teaspoon sea salt
1/8 teaspoon (rounded) cinnamon
1. Add all ingredients to a mini food processor and puree until very smooth. You can also mix by hand, whisking until very smooth and well incorporated, but if you have a mini processor it is much faster and easier to do.
2. Serve with:
- slices or sticks of pineapple, melon, banana, apple, pear, orange segments
- vegetable sticks including cucumber, carrot, jicama, or celery
- lightly sweetened crackers (ex: Health Valley Amaranth Crackers), sweet breads, or mini-bagels.
Notes:
1) Other nut butters can be substituted for the cashew butter, including almond butter.
2) If using fruits that quickly oxidize and turn brown (ex: apples, pear), toss them in a little freshly squeezed lemon juice diluted with water, or orange juice.
White bean dip:
2 cans white beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup vegetable broth
(Puree these in the food processor or blender)
1 tbsp. oil
1/4 onion diced
1 clove garlic
(saute until onion is soft then add bean/broth puree)
1/2 cup finley chopped parsley
(add while warming the dip and you're done!)
This is great with pita, crusty bread or even on pasta!
Chopped steak, with some good dairy cream, avacado, and jalapeno peppers.
This will only work with obscene amounts of steak, of course.
A1 is necessary as a general rule of thumb. Without A1 it would just be good dairy cream, avacado, and jalapeno peppers with diced cow muscle.
