If you have bad knee problems like I do, you should go with the eliptical machine- I use the one w/o moving the arms..but it just depend on you what you like better.
Yes, they are as effective as running.and for me it's just fun to work out on these machines=)

i've heard that they aren't as effective but jsut marginally. i also have bad knees and only use those, and i am see good resutls.
I believe so. My mom uses one and really enjoys it. She has asthma but can do the eliptical w/out getting too winded or worn out. She is dropping pant sizes like wildfire. She walks some of the time though, to be sure and get some time with nature in.
