i just wanted to know because im afraid that im not normal.. i started mine at eleven..and i started much earlier than most of my friends. but im shorter tahn all of them.

I started at 11 too. Eleven is a perfectly normal age. Some girls start as early as 8 and others don't start until 15 or 16. When you start depends on a lot of things, but mostly genetics. Your height probably doesn't have anything to do with it; I was 5'6" when I started. I also started a long time before my friends. It was more than a year before anyone I knew started and my best friend didn't start for another four years. Don't worry about it!

First of all, height has nothing to do with it. I was 12 but 11 is normal for lots of girls. It is sad the earlier you start, cause you have longer to go. I hate it.

Eleven or twelve. You are normal, so don't worry. Friends of mine started theirs at 10 while one did not start until she was 14. It has nothing to do with your height, anyway. That's a different gene.
I sadly started shortly after my 9th birthday.not the best summer of my life. Starting early is hard.you'll be fine, and you are totally normal. We all mature differently. The best part is, as your friends are catching up, you get to be the helpful one that has been there and done that.

Hey, I was only 10 when I started my period. I was the first one to have it too. Nobody else in my class had it during 4th grade. So I kind of felt left out. But don't worry, your normal. In some movie or book or something like that it says you can start your period at 9! So I wouldn't worry, if I were you. :-)
