I wish I had my chart here but I don't. Here's what I remember off the top of my head.
(Assuming you are a diabetic, here are some guidelines. If you are not a diabetic, your numbers should be below 6.)
Anything below 7 is great.
Between 7 and 8 is decent.
Anything 8 and above shows a need for adjustments to have greater control of blood sugar.

Hemoglobin A1C is a test to measure your glycemic control over about a 4 month period. It should generally be less than 5% for a healthy person; the typical goal for a diabetic is less than 6% (but depends on what guidelines you follow)

7-8 is NOT okay as the above post says. Search on ADA for guidelines. AT Least goal is under 7% and other groups want diabetics under 6.5%. Normal nondiabetics typically will be in the 5-6% range. Keeping under 7 is a must according to studies to avoid microvascular complications such as blindness etc - go to the ADA website for help!!
As I know, the normal HbA1c id <=6.5%.
>=8% is considered of having diabetes.
A1C test is a blood test for 3 months worth of diabetes self control only your doctor can prescribe for it to be done. It should stay at about a 7 percent or lower. That means you have had very tight control of your diabetes. Mine stays at about a 6 percent. If you have more questions on this talk to your doctor.
