Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(The dr says I have 2 choices-Depro shot or hysterectomy to take care of bad pain),it will help you,my kids.
Every month I'm in pain and have worked my way through several options. The dr now says I either get a hysterectomy or Depro shots. I'm not happy with either choice especially with all the bad things that can happen with both choices.
Answers:
My mother always said to keep your uterus for as long as you can!
She said that it will help you through many phases of life.
I would use the shots for as long as I could.

Hysteroctomy seem a bit radical, no? I think I'd go with depro, assuming that you don't have any other choices. Have you got a second opinion from another doctor?
Try the shots first give that a chance.
I started with the shots, worked out for a while then moved on the the latter 2 weeks ago. It is what it is, I'm happy with the surgery no more pain (15 years). Wishing you the best of luck
Depo for sure! it will take away your period.not to mention you wont have to take any hormones ect. i say go depo.
That is some choice. Maybe you need to get a second opinion. Seriously. A hysterectomy over a shot. Kind of extreme. Shots have lots of side effects the best thing for you to do is your own research on each and decide which it is you can live with the best. Only you know what you can handle.
If you're talking about depovera shots like the birth control shot that you take every 3 months, that shot can lead to osteoporosis, currently where I live the health unit is converting all girls on the shot as a form of birth control to other forms because of that reason.
I was in terrible pain and every month it was like having a misscarriage. I was going back and forth to dr's and a few even told me my pain was in my head. I ended up having 4 surgeries in one. Hysterectomy, appendectomy and then they had to cut out 6inches of my intestines and reloop them. I choose the hysterectomy but the other things showed up during my surgery. Any time you have to make a decision like this it's difficult cause you feel like you're loosing something. I can't tell you what's best for you that's your decision. Whatever you decide pray on it and leave it up to GOD, he'll give you all the strength you need. He worked for me and he'll work for you to. GOD BLESS
I had to have a complete hysterectomy due to endimetriosis. I mean he took EVERYTHING! And it took quite awhile to feel like myself again since Iam so young. Hormones help that but still if I were u I would try the shots first and then later you can always have the hysterectomy. Good luck! Hysterectomy's r very very painful and sometimes hard to adjust to life afterwards without hormones.
Depro shot is a short term fix.You did not say how old you are whether you have kids or not. If you are through with having children, I would opt for the hysterectomy. Pain after surgery, yes. They have pain medication for that, but the next month you'll be liberated from pain and periods. And if you are approaching menopause have them remove the ovaries too, no chances of ovarian cancer.
