Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(What is swelling and whats the best way to get rid of it? - YouQA),it will help you,my kids.
My leg (calf) is swollen pretty bad after a poison oak irritation got scratched a bit too much ;) and i went to doctors on duty and now have antibiotics that i take twice a day. THe rash turned into a skin infection because i scratched it and bacteria got into the open parts i guess but i was wondering if the antibodies are actually fighting the swelling or just the infection. I don't know where the swelling is coming from, i just know what its made of water or something and i was wondering how to get rid of it.
Thanks
Answers:
call your doctor's office, tell them the situation, and they will tell you what you should do.
Other Answers:
First, don't scratch it. Second, the antibiotics are fighting the infection and by fighting the infection you are fighting the swelling. Third, drink lots of water. Fourth, try an anti-inflamatory medication like asperin.
call you doctor and ask for some naproxen it helped my husbands swelling in his knee and it also helps a little for pain without makin you woozy.Oh and the swelling is natural its just fighting infection and your body is just reacting to it.
Relax, water retention to a traumatized area is normal. Poison oak imparticular will do this.Drinks lotssss of water, swelling will go down.
Putting ice on the swollen calf will help the swelling. put the ice in a ziploc bag, and then wrap it in a cloth. that will bring the sweeling down. deffinently don't itch it anymore. Take some benedryle alergy medicine, or put benedryle creme on it. (actually, any histamine-blocking
alergy medicine, or anti-itch cream would work) but don't put creme on any open sores.
next time ask your doctor about things like that when you're in their office. They'll be happy to give good advise.
