Well for trail running (do it with a friend), there is Discovery Park (which has like, 7 miles of trails), Bridle Trails State Park (28 miles), Lake to Lake Trail (Bellevue). If you mean "Seattle area" as in Tacoma, Seattle, Bellevue, etc. then in Tacoma there is always the water front (on Ruston Way). Like, that's 2 miles down the water front, 2 miles back up, and then a run into down town would be nice. Or if you're up for a challenge, once you get to the end of Ruston Way, go up 30th street hill to proctor and then take a left down proctor for shops and such, right down Proctor for a cozy neighborhood. Or you could always continue down 30th street and take a left on Pearl and find your way to Vasault park.

I find when I want a real fast time I run through southern Seattle closer to Tacoma aroud midnight. My flight or fight mechanism pumps adrenaline with each burst of the uzi's.
