Eliminate, as much as possible, all caloric and noncaloric sweeteners. Eat naturally occurring sugar found in fruits and vegetables. Use Stevia as a sweetener. Here is a link that lists all the different types of sugar: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/002444.htm
The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:
*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/library/weight/calsburned.htm
Get an online, desktop, or cell phone diet and fitness calculator. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.
Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight:
Adults: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm
Teens/Children: http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/exercise/weight/bmi.html
It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.
Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:

*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A reputable test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com
Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe. Review outdoor air quality forecasts where you live and get an indoor air purifier.

Give up sugar and sweets.
eat natural sugar, such as fruit, when you get the cravings
I eat a little fresh pineapple - for some reason I have a very low appetite after that. Found it out by chance.
Take a cold shower-oh wait wrong craving.
You just have to stop eating the sugar. Sugar makes you crave more sugar. White flour is dangerous this way also.
It takes a few days, but the cravings do go away.
Protein and leafy veggies for a while and you stop craving the things that make you sick.
Actually, the more I do strenuous resistance training, the less I want to eat junk food.
drink a glass of water...dont laugh it works.
Science proves when you eat sugary foods you crave more of them.
Focus on foods high in fiber and nutrients such as baked potatoes, brown rice, whole grains, fresh fruits, and vegetables. These foods provide more satiety per calorie than foods with more concentrated calories, so you'll be satisfied with less. If your diet is made up of high-sugar foods that are low in fiber and other nutrients (think of fat-free cereal bars, sugary breakfast cereals, white bread, white rice, and convenience foods), then you most likely will need to eat more calories before you feel satisfied.
The more sugar you eat, the more you will want. Start cutting out a little at a time.
If you want to satisfy the cravings, just eat a pinchful of sugar. Seriously, it won't ruin your diet (if it's only just a pinch!) and it'll satisfy the cravings better than anything I've found. Sugar-free gum is also good.
Don't stop them. You need them. Feed them but not with fake sweets but real sweets made by nature. Fruit is real. Others are fake fruit. See this site to learn the right way to eat fruit and sources that say it is best food you can eat.

The only way to stop sugar cravings is to stop. No way around it. I know how hard this is too because I love sweets myself and have to discipline myself to not have it. I can have it about once a week.
The hardest part is to just stop eating it, but you can do it when you're ready, most of it is in your head lol When you're ready you'll stop, and when you do have a treat once a week, when you do stop you'll see weight fall off.
Eat tons of sweet fruit --> strawberries, canteloupe, etc.
also...
Eat a dill pickle or something similarly sour... that usually helps take the "sweet" edge off.
