I have heard of it being used in conjunction with an ice pack to reduce inflammation in horses. It will, however, gradually dry out your skin, and you will instantly develop extremely bad breath. The effects are short lived, as it is quickly metabolized by your body. I think it's pretty tough on your liver too.
