I would buy bottled water if the water drain broke, i certainly would not drink the tap water, and i sure would not give it to any pets.
I wouldn't give a pet anything I wouldn't drink myself
Depends on if your pet is valuable to you, I would not feed my pet water that I wouldn't drink - up to you - your decision.
If in doubt give him bottled water till you know for sure :)
