Answer:
flavored water counts!
As long as it is decaf , it counts
You can certainly have the flavored water if it's easier for you*some ppl cant drink straight water..so do choose the flavoured ones* Just make sure you're drinking at least 8 glasses /day* :) Flushes out the impurities*
Abigail - Lucky for you, they do count. But be careful if they have artificial sweetner as it has now been proven that so called "diet" drinks and foods with this stuff actually interact with your brains receptors and cause an unnatural craving for real sugar and starchy foods that your body can convert to sugar. This is why you see the diet coke drinker with the supersize fries.
Fancy flavored water, soda, tea, juice... it all counts towards the mythical "8 glasses a day".

The "8 glasses a day" is a myth that is perpetuated because it's an easy rule to follow, but is more a placebo than anything else. The original study was based upon sick, elderly people confined to their hospital bed is where the recommendation of 8 glasses of water to keep them hydrated. For us healthy people, our body is pretty efficient at pulling water out of the food we eat, even if it contains caffeine, sugar and artifical sweetners. It's part of our evolution when we didn't have safe drinking water available on a daily basis.

Of course, if you're working outside or working out you'll need more water. However, in the office enviroment and classrooms we're not sweating or losing water so we can drink less than 8 glasses. The funny thing is seeing people at their desk with big jugs of water worried about their 8 glasses. Their bigger concern, as well as for myself, is living a sedentary lifestyle from working in an office. That's the biggest impact on our health, not 8 glasses of water.
We're made of water and we need water for our body to function. Somebody said you don't have to drink 8 glasses, I wouldn't go below 4.

Flavored drinks count, but try plain water or unsweetened tea as those drinks have dangerous artificial substances that you can easily avoid.
no, they don't. only water counts as water, your dr or nutritionist will tell you the same. you need the 8 glasses a day just for body processes -- digestion, elimination, cell production. if you exercise or drink anything else, you'll need additional water.
