Caribou Coffee is definitely right up there with Starbucks, if not better. The first Caribou Coffee was opened in Minneapolis, MN which happens to be where I am from. I am now living in Washington state, surrounded by Starbucks. I miss Caribou! I always stock up when go home. :-)
The last time I had Caribou Cofee was in Cleveland, in the Tower City mall, and it was great. It's certainly as good as Starbucks.
Caribou is owned by Saudi Arabians.
At least Starbucks is a US company, based in Seattle.
I used to work at Caribou Coffee in St. Paul and Minneapolis. It has pretty good coffee. I like how it was going for a laid back rustic atmosphere. Not sure what they are like now.
