Answer:
coasters varnish and detergents work to nothing with bleach though
Use detergents!!!
It depends what your table is made out of. White vinegar is good for residue from hard water from metal or glass, but if your coffee table is wood, than maybe you want something different.
You'll probably need to sand, stain and varnish. Sorry man!
buy coasters.
unfortunately ..you will have to refinish the whole table to get rid of them..get the sander out..have fun !
Also do not use water on wood..such as detergents..except for Murphy's soap for wood floors. It will warp the table and ruin it more.
If the stains are rings I hear that spraying hairspray on to the stain then putting a match to it. the fire goes out very quickly.

You can use a stain removal lotion along with dettol. Or u can simply wash away using a soap. or u can do this: take some lemon jjuice extract and soak a soft cloth and rub it against the stain. you can see the difference!!
put some drops of white vinegar over the stains and rub them, the stains will be removed in some seconds.
You may end up sanding and refinishing the coffee table. It is not hard and doesn't really take that long plus your table will look brand new.
Rename it a stain table and carry on.
Assuming this is a wooden table, there is a product called toppscratch, comes in a few different shades, wipe on, polish off, job done!
If it is a very old and valuable table, take it to a french polisher, they aren't as expensive as you would think.
If you want to do it yourself, you need to take back the original surface with alcohol, and then build it up again with shellac, a very long process and you must have a humidity and dust free environment to do it in.
