My Mom argue with me over these , she believe that you can't put hot food in the refrigerator because she think that something would happend to the Fridge. I think that was something that maybe years ago when old fridges were made you couldn't do it ..But I want to prove her wrong ..I think you can do it ..Now if You can't put hot food in the fridge ..do you know why???
thanks

Answer:
You can put hot food in the refrigerator all you want it would just depend on what you have it on or in, if its on glass or ceramic then you wouldnt want to put that in the fridge because it could break. If you really want to know something then you should read reports of why you shouldnt microwave plastic or cellophane, people die from the chemicals leached into their food because of this stuff. Now thats something to worry about!
no
seriously do not think it matters at all.
you can put hot foodd in the fridge. i always do. nothing happens
How food lowers the temp inside the fridge. Let the hot food cool to room temp then put in the fridge.
Yes that is true. you have to let the food cool before you could put in the frige becaues it will spoil and could make you sick if you eat it.
You can put hot food in the fridge, you just have to be careful if the container is also hot. if the container is ceramic, and hot from the oven or stove, let it at least cool to warm to the touch. if you put it in the fridge while it's hot, it may crack.
it is true, because if you leave it in there at hot temperatures it will cool down to room temperature. room termperature is the perfect breeding ground for germs. also if it is left in the fridge, some parts wont cool much and will stay at room temperature for a long time. its basically like leaving them out on the window for a long time.....but keep fighting your mom! dont give in to your parents ever lol
its best to let the food cool slightly, but not totally,,,,,,,, its due to the fact, a hot thing put into the fridge will temporarily lower the internal temperature of the fridge, yes if its one small hot thing, it wont matter, much but larger can warm up the fridge for a little while, till it balances the temp,,,,,,,
There is nothing wrong or dangerous about putting hot food into a refrigerator. But energy will be saved if the food is permitted to cool to room temperature first. That's the only difference.
I was told not to put hot food in the fridge too but found out later that it is bad to let it sit out and cool to room temp. The faster you cool it the less chance there is for bacteria to grow that will get you sick.
you can but it could go bad or taste worse
I have heard that you should let food cool down first before you put it in the fridge, but I think the worst that will happen is the temp in the fridge will go up a bit but eventually cool back down.
Please listen to me on this one. The food HAS to cool down. Generally, food is fine to be at room temperature for FOUR hours. IF you put hot food in your fridge, you will HEAT YOUR FRIDGE. The food in the fridge is what will go bad and kill you, not the hot food you put in there. Everyone who answered this saying that it is okay to do so, is putting anyone who eats from there fridge in danger. Not to mention the electric bill from running the fridge all night, trying to recover.

The FDA, model food code states that food shall not be left between 40f and 140f for more than four hours. While cooling a product, it should be brought to 70f in two hours, then to 40f and below in four hours. This is how all restaurants are expected to operate.
Well, normally I wait for the food to be a little cool before putting in the fridge so the hot temperature doesn't play havoc on the temperature of the fridge too. It would be wise to let it cool a little.
owh..yeah..it could damages ure fridge..
believe me or not, what about if you check if theres any info about that from the manual?well, PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE....=)
No, its okay to put hot food in the frig.
Most modern fridges this won't affect...but its best to let the item cool to room temp before you overworked the fridge.
