I dunno......it's true, though. The same way smaller bags of chips tastes better than the bigger bags of chips to me. Funny isn't it?

Its just like beer, the metal can makes it taste different than the plastic or glass bottle. Glass bottled sodas taste different than plastic bottled ones too.
I think its the glass vs. metal. I think that the carbonation stays better in glass. So does real sugar. Most are made of corn syrup now-its cheaper, not better.
I prefer bottles as well.

I think all sodas and colas taste better from the can ( well glass bottles were the best ever, but since they are no longer sold in glass like they used to be)
I guess it is all about personal taste preference
It probably has to do with the packaging. Since the cans are made of metal, maybe it gives the drink a tiny hint of odd flavor.
glass does not leach into the drink...with phosphoric acid in soda, I would wonder about the can!
I think it's because the metal will leech into the pop over time, giving it a tinny taste. You might have had this taste if you eat that can of fruit salad that's been sitting in the back of your cupboard for months. Pop from a plastic bottle, however, will not have the same chemicals contaminating the drink.
