Has anyone ever heard of UHT or Ultrapasteurized Milk? If so can anyone point me in the right direction on where to get some? A friend gave me some a while back and it was perfect for me because I am not a big milk drinker. A half gallon would normally go bad before I was even a third of the way done with it. I was also hoping to find more for my mom, since her refrigerator is too small for an entire gallon, let alone the two she normally puts in there for her entire family. Thanx!!!

Answer:
It's usually sold under the brand name 'Parmalat' in the US. You can sometimes find it in big supermarkets near the powdered milk or the hot cocoa. (You can even get it in juice-boxes sometimes.) Ask for the name, because no one calls it UHT in the US.
They pasturized it at 140 degrees, were normally regular milk is done at 110 degrees, and does not last on the shelf for the same time, like condensedmilk and sweetened condensed milk there done in a similar way.

Most supermarkets will have it we can get here in Canada, I use a combination of powdered milk and 2% condensed milk and make a litre at a time, there is a bit of taste issue, but not something that is offensive, a bit creamier than regular 2%.

Illke to use it in sauces or puddings as it does not curdle if over heated.
