If you were to drink a couple of espresso shots, what would it do to your blood pressure?

Answer:
Expresso shot is a very condensed form of coffee. Espresso contains approximately twice the caffeine content per volume as regular brewed coffee.,Caffeine makes the heart beat faster therefore raising blood pressure.
One would expect the caffiene in an espresso would raise blood pressure.

The effects of caffiene are known definatively since studies have been contradictory to a small extent.

One possible effect is that caffiene narrows the artieries by blocking the effects of a hormone. The other effect is due to it's stimulant proproties causing a release of adreneline.

However, 2 to 3 cups of coffee can raise the blood pressure 3 to 14 mm Hg sytolic and diastolic so most doctors recommend limiting caffiene to 200 mg/day (about two 6 oz cups).

According to the University of Wisconsin website regarding caffiene content:

Espresso 2 oz is about 100 mg caffiene
Drip Coffee 8 oz is about 185 mg
Diet Coke 12 oz is about 46 mg
